Turkish FM Cavusoglu today said: "American planes that took off from Incirlik yesterday neither hit ISIS nor joined any operation.''
Exclusive Statement from Pentagon refutes Cavusoglu's remarks directly:
''I've heard those comments reported/ haven't personally seen the interview in question. That said, as we've announced:
Yesterday, the United States began flying manned counter-ISIL missions from Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. Strikes were conducted.
These missions are part of Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve, and the strikes will be included in CJTF-OIRs daily strike updates.
This follows Turkey's announcement last month that it would open its bases to United States and Coalition member's air operations against ISIL, as part of deeper U.S.-Turkey counter-ISIL cooperation.
The Coalition began flying unmanned, armed counter-ISIL missions earlier this month.
