Today, senior White House official, when asked about reports that Turkey and Israel agreed initial understanding to improve relations, sent this:
"We have seen reports of a potential agreement between Israel and Turkey to restore diplomatic relations. We would welcome this step in improving relations between two of our key allies in the region, particularly given our common interests and the challenges we face.
